INplay 2012

INplay is a unique, international event that connects kids creative industries with insights and opportunities in the interactive space. From the video game business to the broadcast industry, from toys to toons, the INplay conference brings together leaders in the kids space to learn, network and be inspired by the future of kids interactive digital media.

Happening May 15 & 16, 2012 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, the INplay conference will feature presentations, panel discussions, case studies, technology ‘show and tells’, keynotes and a good dose of fun!

Return to Pancake Mountain

Alas, after featuring everyone from The White Stripes and M.I.A. to Arcade Fire and Metric to The Flaming Lips and Kings of Leon—not to mention road-trips to SXSW, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo—Pancake Mountain announced this past February they’d no longer be serving new episodes. As star goat puppet Rufus Leaking wrote, “the hoity-toity TV network big wigs just couldn’t bring themselves to let us make our show the way it was intended. And, if our punk ethos has taught us anything, it’s never sell out to The Man. I’m still not sure who this man is (or even his name), but Scott tells me he’s important.” Creators Scott Stuckey and J.R. Soldano are keynote speakers at next week’s INplay 2012 conference—”Never Surrender: Your Pancakes Just the Way you Want Them. Always”—at the Liberty Grand, and are currently “entertaining ideas” for a new show that will similarly use music to appeal equally to kids and grown-ups. In the meantime, I spoke to the pair about their Pancake legacy.

Pancake Mountain Creators Added As Keynote Speakers For INplay 2012

Interactive Ontario has announced that JR Soldano and Scott Stuckey, Executive Producers of Pancake Mountain, along with host/puppet/Chief Mayhem Officer/Chancellor of Entertainment Rufus Leaking, have been added to the INplay 2012 lineup as keynote speakers. At their INplay 2012 keynote, “Never Surrender: Your Pancakes Just the Way you Want Them. Always,” the trio will discuss the journey to develop their humble cable access show for major network distribution and provide insight into the current state of children’s entertainment.
